CANPREPP, an initiative of AFMC, is a virtual platform allowing applicants to Canadian residency programs to discover, experience, and connect with any residency program across Canada. Learners can find the right fit for their future by exploring residency programs across Canada, all in one virtual place.

In April 2023, the AFMC Board of Directors approved the recommendation from the AFMC Committee on UGME that starting in the Fall of 2023 the following rules apply to visiting electives:

Must be at least two weeks long (excluding travel)

A student cannot exceed twelve weeks of visiting electives in total

These are an amendment to the rules approved in June 2022.

The undergraduate programs are aware that there is currently limited capacity for visiting electives across the country. This capacity is slowly increasing as schools are working to maximize the number of electives.
