L\u2019Association des facult\u00e9s de m\u00e9decine du Canada (AFMC) et la Fondation Gairdner<\/a> reconnue \u00e0 l\u2019international, ont officialis\u00e9 leur partenariat afin de\u00a0multiplier les possibilit\u00e9s pour la prochaine g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de chercheurs en sant\u00e9 du Canada\u00a0et de\u00a0renforcer le leadership du pays en mati\u00e8re d\u2019innovation en sant\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Depuis trois ans, l\u2019AFMC a le plaisir d\u2019accueillir les prestigieuses conf\u00e9rences Gairdner lors du Congr\u00e8s international de m\u00e9decine universitaire (CIMU). En avril 2026, Ottawa accueillera \u00e0 nouveau les laur\u00e9ats Gairdner, des chercheurs de renomm\u00e9e mondiale dont les d\u00e9couvertes transforment la m\u00e9decine. Ils pr\u00e9senteront des recherches r\u00e9volutionnaires et \u00e9changeront avec la communaut\u00e9 internationale de la m\u00e9decine universitaire, tout en encadrant des stagiaires lors de s\u00e9ances dynamiques qui stimulent les id\u00e9es et inspirent les d\u00e9couvertes futures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce partenariat met \u00e9galement en lumi\u00e8re les nouveaux talents. Gr\u00e2ce au concours d\u2019affiches scientifiques du CIMU, des apprenants de tout le Canada et de l\u2019\u00e9tranger pr\u00e9senteront leurs travaux sur une sc\u00e8ne internationale. Les meilleurs \u00e9tudiants recevront le\u00a0Prix Gairdner, leur donnant acc\u00e8s \u00e0 la\u00a0Semain des sciences Gairdner\u00a0\u00e0 Toronto. Un.e \u00e9tudiant.e exceptionnel.le ira encore plus loin en obtenant une place \u00e0 la Rencontre des laur\u00e9ats du prix Nobel \u00e0\u00a0Lindau\u00a0en Allemagne, une occasion unique de travailler aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des esprits scientifiques les plus brillants au monde.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u00ab Participer au CIMU 2025 et \u00eatre reconnue par Gairdner a \u00e9t\u00e9 extr\u00eamement b\u00e9n\u00e9fique pour mon d\u00e9veloppement \u00bb, t\u00e9moigne\u00a0Tara Shomali, doctorante en pharmacologie et th\u00e9rapeutique \u00e0 l\u2019Universit\u00e9 McGill. \u00ab Le CIMU m\u2019a offert une plateforme unique pour pr\u00e9senter mes travaux aux communaut\u00e9s scientifiques et cliniques, me permettant de mieux communiquer sur la biologie structurale \u00e0 un public plus large. La distinction Gairdner m\u2019a ouvert des portes \u00e0 de nouvelles collaborations et m\u2019a permis d\u2019aborder des questions plus ambitieuses sur la neurod\u00e9g\u00e9n\u00e9rescence. Ces occasions ont fait progresser mes recherches et m\u2019ont encourag\u00e9e \u00e0 r\u00e9fl\u00e9chir plus largement \u00e0 leur impact. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ce partenariat intervient \u00e0 un moment crucial, alors que l\u2019AFMC et la Fondation Gairdner travaillent toutes deux \u00e0\u00a0stimuler la recherche en sant\u00e9 au Canada.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lors du CIMU 2025, l\u2019AFMC a r\u00e9uni un forum national de doyens de facult\u00e9s de m\u00e9decine, bailleurs de fonds, d\u00e9cideurs et stagiaires. Les participants ont abord\u00e9 les d\u00e9fis pressants auxquels fait face la communaut\u00e9 des cliniciens-chercheurs et ont \u00e9labor\u00e9 des strat\u00e9gies pour renforcer le soutien \u00e0 cette main-d\u2019\u0153uvre essentielle. Les retours et recommandations contribuent aujourd\u2019hui \u00e0 orienter les strat\u00e9gies et les efforts de plaidoyer afin de permettre aux cliniciens-chercheurs de prosp\u00e9rer et de jouer un r\u00f4le de premier plan sur la sc\u00e8ne mondiale. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cette semaine comprend une s\u00e9rie de colloques, de s\u00e9ances de mentorat et de discussions anim\u00e9es par d\u2019\u00e9minents laur\u00e9ats Gairdner et des leaders en sant\u00e9 mondiale.
