Au cours des neuf derni\u00e8res ann\u00e9es, il a occup\u00e9 le poste de doyen de la facult\u00e9 de m\u00e9decine de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 du Queensland (UQ), en Australie, o\u00f9 il a \u00e9largi les possibilit\u00e9s de formation clinique dans des r\u00e9gions diversifi\u00e9es, renforc\u00e9 des partenariats internationaux et fait progresser des initiatives en sant\u00e9 mentale au sein de la communaut\u00e9 universitaire. Son leadership a contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 fa\u00e7onner des programmes qui pr\u00e9parent les m\u00e9decins \u00e0 r\u00e9pondre \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9volution des besoins des patients et des syst\u00e8mes de sant\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9chelle mondiale.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab La Facult\u00e9 de m\u00e9decine de l\u2019Universit\u00e9 Memorial a une fi\u00e8re tradition de service aux communaut\u00e9s par l\u2019\u00e9ducation et la recherche, \u00bb souligne le Dr Carney. \u00ab Je suis enthousiaste \u00e0 l\u2019id\u00e9e de poursuivre cet h\u00e9ritage en renfor\u00e7ant les partenariats et en soutenant nos \u00e9quipes talentueuses afin de faire progresser collectivement la sant\u00e9 et le bien-\u00eatre. \u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Psychiatre de formation, le Dr Carney a occup\u00e9 des postes de direction en \u00e9ducation m\u00e9dicale tant en Australie qu\u2019au Royaume-Uni, notamment \u00e0 titre de doyen de l'\u00e9ducation m\u00e9dicale au King\u2019s College de Londres. Il est largement reconnu pour ses contributions aux politiques de planification des effectifs en sant\u00e9, au d\u00e9veloppement des programmes d\u2019\u00e9tudes et aux approches qui mobilisent les \u00e9tudiant.e.s comme partenaires dans l\u2019\u00e9laboration de leur \u00e9ducation.<br><br>Le Dr Carney succ\u00e8de \u00e0 Dolores McKeen, qui occupait le poste de doyenne par int\u00e9rim depuis 2024.
