Simulation Playbook

With financial support from Health Canada, AFMC is developing a national curriculum for residents and practicing physicians to respond to the opioid crisis. The simulated clinical interactions will help provide hands-on experience for residents and practicing physicians to supplement current educational offerings on pain management, opioid stewardship and opioid use disorder.

Simulation Playbook created in collaboration with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada.

  • Contains six case-based scenarios.
  • Intended audience includes physicians and residents.
  • Piloted at three simulation centres across Canada: University of Calgary, Western University and University of Ottawa.
  • A Simulation Playbook Tips tool has been developed by our Faculty Development Working Group.
