Read a testimonial from Dr. Dolores M McKeen, Interim Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University and past participant in the International Dean Leadership Development Program 2023:
“The program had exceptional faculty who facilitated on-line sessions, that supported me further build my leadership skills and importantly, medical education administration competencies to allow trust building, effective use of resources and team management and how to foster a culture of innovation in my faculty. A particularly valuable benefit for me as a participant in the AFMC International Dean Leadership Development Program was the opportunity to be matched with a senior Dean mentor identified based on my needs.
My mentor, Dr. Brenda Hemmelgarn, Dean & Vice- Provost, College of Health Sciences, and Dean, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, University of Alberta, met me virtually every two weeks and provided invaluable leadership insights, mentorship and encouragement. It was meaningful to meet and solidify this deeply personal “distant” connection at ICAM 2023. I continue to value these discussions today.”
