The Canadian Medical Association (CMA), MD Financial Management and Scotiabank together proudly support the International Congress on Academic Medicine (ICAM), taking place Apr. 13–18, 2023, in Quebec City. ICAM is one of several initiatives that comprise the 10-year, $115 million commitment to supporting the medical profession and advancing health in Canada.

ICAM is an annual congress that brings together leaders in medical education and health research to promote innovation and scholarship in medical education and health research on an international scale. It will have a special focus on all learners – medical students, residents as well as graduate students and post-doctoral scholars – including opportunities to present, network and to connect with mentors and potential employers.

Quotes

“We are excited to support the International Congress of Academic Medicine. There has never been a more critical time to examine and identify climate solutions, health human resources planning and wellness, among other key themes in health care transformation. By bringing together medical experts from around the world, the ICAM ensures current medical students and residents, and the next generation of physicians, are trained to meet the needs of patients now and in the years to come.”

Dr. Alika Lafontaine, President, Canadian Medical Association

AFMC is pleased to have support from the CMA, MD Financial Management and Scotiabank for ICAM. As the first international gathering dedicated to academic medicine, it will be the place for our community to come together to discuss the most pressing questions in academic medicine that bring us closer to a healthier tomorrow.
