OTTAWA, ONTARIO – April 2, 2025 – The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada (AFMC) is proud to announce the launch of MEDPREPP: Academic Medicine Preparation and Pathways, a new comprehensive platform designed to support both Canadian and international medical learners interested in the Canadian medical education system.

MEDPREPP will offer a one-stop-shop to medical school aspirants and applicants, providing comprehensive guidance, support and resources to learners at all stages of their journey.

The new platform will launch in the fall of 2025 and will replace Canada’s Portal for Residency Program Promotion (CANPREPP), Student Portal, and Future MD platforms. It will consolidate tools and resources, offering learners a more streamlined and equitable experience.

With a commitment to continuous improvement, MEDPREPP will have a dedicated learner advisory group, tasked with identifying evolving needs of medical learners and helping shape the ongoing evolution of MEDPREPP as Canada’s top tool for medical school preparation.

This initiative is made possible through generous funding from the CMA Foundation. The CMA Foundation has committed more than more than $38 million to address urgent needs and build resilience in health care and beyond, supporting research, the medical profession and vulnerable populations in cities and communities across the country.

“We are delighted to partner with the CMA Foundation on MEDPREPP,” says AFMC President and CEO, Dr. Constance LeBlanc. “The Foundation’s commitment to help medical school aspirants and applicants more easily navigate their way to becoming doctors will be transformative over the long term.”
