May 23, 2023
The future of our planet and the health of our global community is at a critical point, and we are thrilled to see the positive response that the Academic Health Institutions’ Declaration on Planetary Health has received from the academic health community.

As part of its dedication to continuous quality improvement of undergraduate medical education, the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) is pleased to announce that it will hold a public hearing at the International Conference on Academic Medicine, taking place April 12-15, 2024, in Vancouver, BC.

This public hearing will be held on Saturday April 13, 2024, between 12:00p.m. – 1:00p.m. (Pacific Time), and will serve as a forum for discussion and collaboration on proposed substantial changes to Elements 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 7.1, 7.4, 7.6 and 7.7 within Standards 3 & 7. The current proposed version was developed through a highly iterative process.

The work on the changes to these Elements began over a year ago and the CACMS is grateful for all the interested parties who have contributed to getting these changes to this final phase of approval.

To participate in the public hearing and/or consultation regarding proposed substantial changes to Elements 3.3, 3.4, 3.5, 3.6, 7.1, 7.4, 7.6, and 7.7 within Standards 3 & 7, please follow these steps:
