The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada in collaboration with the 17 faculties of medicine across Canada are responding to the surge of overdoses and opioid-related deaths in Canada by leading the creation of a Canada-wide, bilingual, comprehensive, and competency-based curricula for current and future physicians in pain management, opioid use disorder and addiction medicine.

Statement on Tender Process for Resident Matching Services

Virtual interviews for the 2023 Medicine Subspecialty Match, Pediatric Subspecialty Match and Family Medicine, Enhanced Skills Match
The Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada’s Board of Directors has decided that all interviews taking place in the fall of 2022 for the 2023 Medicine Subspecialty Match, Pediatric Subspecialty Match and Family Medicine, Enhanced Skills Match will be in a virtual format including those for local candidates.
Eligibility for the Canadian Residency Match as of July 1, 2025
In alignment with the timing of the change in accreditation status of Canadian medical schools, the AFMC Board of Directors has approved that the reference to the LCME be removed from the 2006 Board approved motion, which would now read
